Working to make
El Paso a no-kill community!

Our Mission

Founded in 2001, Pets Alive-El Paso works to stop the killing of adoptable animals in El Paso animal shelters by promoting the benefits of spaying/neutering and providing financial assistance for spay/neuter surgeries to qualified pet guardians.

Pets Alive-El Paso is a 501(c)(3) non-profit  organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.

Every donation helps!

Your contributions make our lifesaving work possible! Pets Alive-El Paso is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization — a public charity whose lifeblood is the generous donations of compassionate people like you.

Pets Alive-El Paso provides financial assistance for Spay/Neuter Surgeries to qualified pet guardians based on grants received and individual donations.  While it is our mission to assist as many pet guardians as possible in spaying/neutering their pets, Pets Alive-El Paso does not have unlimited funding. If we are unable to assist you, our organization can refer you to a veterinarian in your area. Please call (915) 873-7387 to check on the status of your application. Thank you for spaying/neutering!

Events/Resources

Pets Alive-El Paso's focus is reducing pet overpopulation through our Spay/Neuter program. We are not an animal shelter or rescue organization.

If you are trying to find a home for a pet, here are some tips, as well as a list of no-kill shelters and rescue groups which may be able to assist you.

Please note that El Paso's no-kill shelters and rescue groups are perpetually overwhelmed, so the more you can do to find a home for the animal yourself, the better.

Tips for finding a home for a Pet

  • Use flyers, email, Facebook and other social media accounts and word-of-mouth to spread the word within your work, school, church, sport, hobby and social networks.

  • Post flyers around your neighborhood and, if you live in an apartment or condo complex, in common areas such as the office, laundry room, gym and party room.

  • See if you can get an announcement published in your church bulletin and/or in your apartment, condo, neighborhood association, work, school, club or other newsletter.

  • Ask permission to post flyers at veterinary clinics, grooming parlors and pet supply stores. Many have bulletin boards for this purpose.

  • Check with coffeehouses, restaurants and other businesses in your area to see if they will allow you to post flyers.

  • Post a notice on Craigslist.
